A void to fill our hearts

The scaffolding over the family room was taken down recently, revealing the void in all its splendour.

The aspect from the family room
The aspect from the top of the stairs, looking through the rumpus
A lovely view of the portaloo. I wonder if my landscaper can work one into our backyard permanently. Nothing says class like being able to pee right next to the barbecue.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Annie chose the Waldorf 50 floor plan above all the others because of this space.

She saw this floor plan on the Porter Davis website, fell in love, but resigned herself to never being able to have it with us being in NSW and Porter Davis being in Victoria.

It was only a random comment from me that Eden Brae offered a 50 square Waldorf that pushed us down this path. And that random comment was in response to a random comment from her that none of the floor plans we’d seen really spoke to her the way the Porter Davis Waldorf 50 did.

In the end, Annie got the one space that had captured her heart, while the rest of the family got a home about 30% larger than we would have been content with. #winning 😀

  1. Hi there,

We are also building with the Waldorf 50 with Eden Brae. I too came by this design by chance in NSW after seeing the Porter Davis website falling in love with it but then realising that we can’t build with porter Davis.
Your place looks amazing. Those windows are a stunning feature of the house. It’s very exciting.

    1. That’s great – I hope your build goes smoothly and you get the house of your dreams. Btw, if you haven’t finalised your plans and council DA yet, I’d suggest making sure there’s at least 110mm of clearance on the garage side to the fence. I will soon write a post about my mistake here.
