The oven saga – a reprise

Those of you who have stayed with me on my long and verbose journey may recall my trials and tribulations with regards to the ovens.

The long and short of it is that I pulled the plug on upgrading the ovens with Eden Brae’s supplier.

They had a problem with respecting arithmetic logic and I have no respect for those with no respect for logic.

This left us in the situation of having (1) a base model Smeg oven – a piece of shit more concerned with looking good than being practical, and (2) an empty oven cavity to be filled with a non piece of shit oven.

A quick trip to The Good Guys over the weekend yielded an entry level Bosch oven with EcoClean, a feature allowing easy cleaning at 270C compared to much higher temperatures for pyrolytic ovens.

The electrician installed it this morning – a friendly chap who hails from Wollongong. But I digress.

The final result is a subtle assault on my eyes from the lack of visual uniformity.

Nevertheless, it serves as a lasting monument to my frustrations when people don’t respect logic, and for that, I’m grateful.
